Installing extended shower curtain rods...

Are there any tips? We have a Coleman 1925BH. It has a tub. The shower curtain is too close currently to my big body, so I bought the suggested Stromberg Carlson EXT-3542 Extend-A-Shower. The holes don't look like they will line up with the old, so what should I look out for? If there's no stud to line up, should I use some kind of anchor or will be be for nothing?

There should be a stud there where the old one was. Just make sure that the new shower rod is in the same area where the old one was. You shouldn't have any issues.
I had the same issue with my Gulfstream 188RB, very tight in the shower area! Rather than spend a bunch on an RV curved shower curtain rod, or spending $$$ on a residential one and cutting it down, I got some CPVC pipe and a couple T's and made my own!
With some SS screws, my total cost was $8!
If I could figure out how to post pics, I show you!

I installed one of the Stromberg setups in my trailer a few years ago - 5yrs. Still going strong. I didn't have a bar before, it had the plastic rail mounted to the ceiling.

I didn't have a good anchor point behind the wall so I used the standard wall anchors from Lowes. On one side, once I installed the anchors, they just slipped when I put the screw in. I had to drill a slightly larger hole and then insert a larger anchor and then insert a smaller anchor into that larger anchor and then mount the bar with a screw. Basically, the smaller anchor pushed on the inside of the larger anchor and made a nice tight fit. It sounds more rigged than it was.

For tips - I would make sure that when the bar moves it doesn't hit anything. I have a cabinet right next to mine and had to make sure the bar could clear the top of the cabinet. If I were to do it again, I would probably push it out a little more, just to get another 2 inches at the middle. Mine is great, but more would be better. Make sure you leave a little space at the top so the steam can get out.
