Insurance for Canadians

How are you insuring your Travel Trailer? Is it covered by your auto policy, your house policy, or do you have a separate policy for the trailer?

Mine is added onto my auto policy basically as a separate vehicle. So on my auto policy I have my truck, car, travel trailer and snowmachine.

But I'm pretty sure you can go to any insurance company and get just a separate policy on your travel trailer. Whoever has the best rates. Mine just turned out cheaper to add it to my existing policy.

Ours is also on our auto policy as a separate non motorized vehicle.

I bought a TT, guaranteed value policy through Wayfarer - they were both the least expensive, and it came with a free roadside assistance policy. They also offer a discount if you are a member of the Canadian Explorer's RV.

Our Pop up was insured along with our house insurance - but the downside of that is if you make a claim on it, it counts as a claim against the house.
