Keeping The Black Tank Clean From The Start

OK I am SHOCKED!!!
WHY am I shocked you say? Well wife and I decided to do the TP test. We took two jars and added one sheet of our regular PUREX TP into on jar. The other jar I put in Camco RV TP.

I just shook the regular TP a couple times. Disintegrated INSTANTLY INTO A FINE DUST.

Shook the RV TP for about 10x more and it still hasn't disintegrated. (Mod Edit)

Are we being taken for a ride here???

We are members of North Texas Camping Association. Setting around campfire with 20 friends this subject has come up, along with tires, Tire pressure, towels vehicles. You can imagine the questions and answers. From the new to the veterans.
Ours is a 33 ft TT. 2012 Flagstaff. I ask questions to a lot of people. Took notes .
My system is a mix . Good or bad never had a smell or problem
We buy the package from Walmart, calgon, Dawn, water
Drop a packet. 1 gallon of water and a cup of calgon. 1 good squirrel of Dawn .
Clear connection on the out side . Dump black , rinse and repeat till clean . Dump grey . Leave 2 or 3 gallons in black tank

Well from now on, I'm going to be doing a lot of youtube searches to see real life reviews from real life applications.

We are going to just use our regular PUREX TP. It just disintegrated so easy, unlike the RV stuff. Really taken aback by this.

Just never use the wipes. They are not paper but a cloth. Will never break down.........especially if you ever upgrade to a maserator pump. What a disaster

Wow! That's pretty wild. RV toilet paper isn't exactly what I would call soft either.

I may have to test my Costco TP to make sure it breaks up. I read somewhere on one of these forums that if the TP is septic tank safe you could use it because it will break up. Costco was one of the ones listed.

Huh? Not wanting to debate this point but If you add more water the ice will completely float and not scrape against anything. He explains that at the end. You will never be able to know exactly how much you need as its an enclosed tank. Furthermore, he drove like a lunatic to make it slosh around. That's not practical in an RV and pretty dangerous.

It's clear from this video, that ice does nothing for you but a psychological peace of mind that things are cleansing in there lol.

I have yet to see a video to disprove his claims. Until then, I will go with these findings.

BTW while discussing various black tank cleaning methods a RV newbie asked me how to remove the ice.

Try to imagine the surging of the liquid as you accelerate, brake, turn, etc. If you brake kinda hard, like when the light turns yellow and you can't floor it to get through, all of the liquid and loose contents will surge forward, and then when you stop, it will surge back over a virtually empty portion of the tank.

I'm not gonna put a GoPro and a light down in my black tank to see if this actually happens with any ice cubes, but I can see how that might get the cubes to where they "scrape" even the bottom of the tank.
