Keystone Bullet electrical issue

We have a 2013 32' Keystone Bullet 286QBS with an electrical issue. While running the generator and connecting the 30 amp cable, I noticed that our marine batteries began boiling. I disconnected the generator and topped off the fluid levels in the battery bank, reconnected the generator, only to have them begin boiling again. So, for now I have disconnected the batteries until I can resolve the issue. We travel with the generator and rarely boondock, however I'd like to figure out the issue. We've owned the rig for about a year now, however the issue started about a month ago. It's probably a simple fix and I'm just missing/doing something wrong. Thoughts??

Im guessing they also boil when plugged in to shore power? Do you have a dc voltmeter? Probably high voltage from the converter.

I haven't reconnected the battery bank when hooked to shore power, but I'm guessing you're correct. I do not have a DC volt meter however I will pick one up. If I'm getting too much voltage from the converter, is that a replacement issue?

Before you start looking for converter issues, test the batteries. Probably bad.

Get " real " Deep Cycle batteries and they will last longer.
