Keystone Hideout Issues

I own a 2012 keystone hideout. I have had a lot of issues. Anyone else own one and had issues?

What kind of issues? Are they trailer issues, or poor customer service and repair issues?

Have a 2013 280LHS for 18 months. A couple of adjustments but no real problems yet. For the money it does exactly what we need at a great price.

Microwave doesn't open when open button is pushed. Rear entrance door deadbolt never locks cause the stricker plate was mounted too high. The handle on both black and gray water holding tanks broke off. And now the threaded aluminum rod on the black water broke off.

Had to adjust the latch plate on the front door. Simple 5 min job, I expect stuff like that.

Not trying to be flip but that does not seem like a lot of issues. In fact Keystone only installs those products so they are responsible for the door latch but they did not make the microwave or tank handles.

RVs are made with the cheapest hardware available in most cases. And fit and finish are words that might be appropriate for a Lexus but not so much for an RV unfortunately. Your issues appear to be typical. Many have much worse issues with a new unit.

Just sounds like things that should have been taken care of if it was still in it's first year of warranty. Now if you would say you have a major roof leaks, a bent axle...yes that would be painful..

You should have received paperwork in your purchase covering the microwave, but most likely that would have been two years at the most. Microwaves are all "throw-a-way" now a days.

Your door plate alinement issue could be handled someone handy in 15 minutes. The tank handle would in trip to the local RV supply place for parts...should be a common item. I spray a little WD-40 on each tank handle stem a few times a year. I also make sure as I pull each handle, I pull them out straight.

Have a 2012 31RBDS. No issues to speak of at all. Very satisfied. Did have a small leak in the outside kitchen cold water supply. Tightened it and no more leak. That's pretty much it. Very happy.

I cant list the number of times I have read things like this where people make excuses for the lack luster and just plain horrible workmanship of the manufacturers. I mean NO disrespect to those who subscribe to that idea but when you pay a lot of money or have a large payment each month for an RV that you plan to use to stay close with your family and make new memories it disturbs me that quality control is just a passing thought to the people who not only build them but sell them too. I am really tired of hearing about buyer beware and aww that is just cosmetic and you can fix that yourself in five minutes. Not everyone gets a pdi and some get a crappy one and don't realise it.

I had to vent on this people, its not right to be taken advantage of.... there is NO excuse for any manufacturer to deliver a sub standard RV nor for the dealer to propagate that by passing the problems along.

I feel a little better now......

There is an old saying, the happiest day of RV ownership is the day you sell it.
