Lack Livingston

My wife and I will be going to Lake Livingston State Park in Texas end of June. Anyone out there have any pros and cons about the park. Appreciate any info you have. Thanks!

I checked it out several years ago, from what I remember it was an ok park, mostly just a place to camp near the lake. If you're not boating, I like nearby Huntsville State Park or Double Lake Recreation area for camping. Both have swimming areas and Mountain bike trails, not much for boating. The lake at Huntsville is big enough for canoe and kayak rentals, and they have a boat ramp but the lake is idle speed only.

Used to go there alot. Need to go back. Check out the boardwalk trail thru the woods. It's an elevated boardwalk thing that's a couple miles long. Pretty good walking path. Our boys would bike thru it so be aware of the kids flying by on bikes. Otherwise it's great.

Lake Livingston state park is fine. It's a nice place, although I do agree that I personally enjoy Hunstville state park more. But also, I fish.. and I happen to live close enough to Huntsville state park to drive there and I'm there every week.

But we DO camp there, and it's a really nice park.

Only other thing I can say is bring your shorts, cause it's gonna be HOT!
