leaving tomorrow for two weeks
Heading to Chesapeake Va tomorrow for daughters risky back surgery. DW will stay with daughter during the day after she is home and I will have an opportunity to install upper and lower ball joints on my TV at my son in laws shop. First time using the new to us camper. I have gone thru it an I think all problems are repaired. We will see how it goes.

Have fun! Was in Chesapeake, VA one year ago today. So much to see and do in VA. Thing to watch for... There are many long tunnels up there. If you are taking your RV thru, you have to be inspected prior to entering and I think they do not allow propane tanks in the tunnels. We did not take our RV on the trip, but we were very watchful and aware of how things are done up there. Have a wonderful trip and be safe. Glenda

Brandt, sorry I didn't notice you live in VA. You are fortunate to live in such a beautiful place. I hope my post may be of help to others who do not live up there and may be planning to know what it's like on the tunnel areas. Enjoy your camper!

The tires typically are a weak spot on trailers. Make sure you air them up before you shove off.
Ball Joints are a knuckle banger...good luck.

four new tires and a new spare. even tho they are Goodyear marathons I will keep an eye on them. Camper only weighs 3900 empty and the way we have it loaded it is 4600 by the truck stop scales. Hopefully the tires will hold up and we were originally from Va beach so we are familiar with the tunnels and tolls and we have none this time. They will allow propane, just require you to close tank valves.

I had a Marathon tire failure on a boat trailer. Was really an odd failure as it was a cool day and I slowed way down trying to keep the tire together but it still fell apart....wish making bad tires was a crime.

I hope your daughter gets relief from the pain soon. Back pain is the worst.

Made it back home yesterday, the old camper did well, no problems and tows like its not even there. Had a great trip wit the exception of daughters back surgery, She is still home but in pain for at least 2 weeks.
