We splurged and bought a 23" LCD for the rig. Does anyone
have a recommendation for a TV bracket which would slide the TV
out from the this upper TV shelf away from the wall?

We bought a 17" LCD for our camper. I didn't like the pop-up shelf so I bought the kit to hang it on the wall. Looks great, real sturdy. I'm going to use the pop-up shelf somewhere else in the camper. Good luck.

Whichever slide/pivot tray you purchase, remember to insure the shelf is reinforced to withstand the added stresses of the load when the TV is pulled out. Sliding and sliding/pivoting trays may be purchased to accomodate very large TV's. A search for them will find many brands and sizes for under $100.

Here's another place you can check.
http://www.ergoindemand.com/lcd_monitor_arms.htm

I am not affiliated with them; my company does purchase their equipment though. I can personally speak for the incredible quality of their product. They are not cheap either, but they have a good selection of mounting systems for LCDs.
