Looking for quality built TT in the 20-25’ range

Sold our 30’ Itasca MH and now looking to buy a quality used travel trailer in the 20’-25’ range. So many we have looked at are so cheaply built with cheap material and poor wood work, like they’re just slapped together. Would appreciate any recommendations from anyone who has experience with these. Don’t really care for Airstreams.

There's really not very many MFG that make quality TT's that short.
None are perfect, but Lance might be one to look at. Northwood Arctic Fox 22G, or maybe a Nash.

I would look at the Winnebago Mini as a better than average built trailer. They have the best fiberglass finish and a BAL frame which I believe is slightly better than Lippert. They have an auto level system as an option on the Mini Plus line.

I think part of the problem finding a higher quality TT in those short lengths is most of them that are that short are entry level. Most buyers that want quality are willing to spend the $$$ needed and with that comes a bigger trailer.
Not to many buyers want to drop say $40K on a 20-25' TT.

Northwood despite recent issues is astll probably one of the better ones. Arctic Fox is their top of the line. OutdoorsRV is a sister company that also builds good quality products.

Thumbs up Quality Travel Trailer Brands

Quality Travel Trailer Brands
Last winter (2018) I joined the Dutchmen Owners forum and expressed my disappointment with my new Dutchmen Kodiak Cub. My opinion of Dutchmen travel trailers has not improved since then. Total cost of ownership has not been lower than much higher priced trailers.
I found a thread on iRV2 started by a new member who wanted advice on what to buy for his first travel trailer. What followed was a compilation of 1000’s of camper hours of experience and a list of brands from owners with firsthand experience. Needless to say Dutchmen and many other Thor companies were specifically not recommended. Their only advantage is low purchase price. Jayco is now a Thor company and the last 2? model years are also specifically not recommended. A short list of recommended brands and brief comments follow. I wish I had this information before buying.
Artic Fox
Difficult to find east of the Mississippi

Hamersville Ohio (Cincinnati)

Grand Design

Orville Travel Trailers

Add Orville Travel Trailers. A company with a different business model.
New TT's are only available from the factory, no dealers. None in stock. Only available by ordering. Very few floor plans and sizes. Only the best components used.

Check out Grand Design, Arctic Fox, Nash, ORV. Shorter trailers are usually built very cheaply. The ones I mentioned are not. The GD and Nash are entry level TT's but still know for great value and quality.

The quality trailers listed above are nice, we've looked at them, just did not want to pay those prices.

We are very happy with our entry level Coachmen 17BLSE.

It is a 20' unit, and we looked at most all the entry level TT, and found that the quality of the Coachmen was a step above (or several steps above).

We are by no means veterans in this world, BUT, we do seem to use our trailer more than most. We have over 14,000 miles on it in the first 8 months we've owned it. Been in 15 or so States, plus Mexico.

We do lots of weekend trips, and been on a few longer ones.

This year we're planning three larger trips...one north and west, another up northeast all the way into Nova Scotia, and then another trip to Mexico.

We do not winterize it, instead, we spent a bit of $ and effort on tank and plumbing heaters. We have spent many nights in it in well below freezing temps. We've also been traveling in it in temps in the high 90's.

Everything works well, there were a couple initial, small, issues that were easily resolved.

Maybe we just got lucky?

Here are a couple of links about our unit-

BigFoot makes a 25 ft. rear queen (22' box); their fiberglass construction technique makes for an extremely high quality trailer by eliminating many of the problem areas associated with popular construction methods. Definitely a cut above. Picture of one in my avatar.
