Hello All,

Just had my TT to the dealer for rework on warranty issues that were supposed to be fixed. Last year they found that the A/C on the roof was loose and that's why I had a leak there. Well, they tell me today that it was loose again. Since they last tightened it, it sat all winter and has less than 1000 towed miles. Why is it loose again? Has anyone else experienced similar problem? They told me last year it should be checked annually, but this is weird. My last trailer 3 years and no issue. My uncle has had his for over 10 and never an issue. Could it be the heavy A/C on a trussed roof with thin wood layer? Thanks for input. Rig in signature. Sorry so long.

Most RV AC units use a foam seal between the AC base and the roof. The attachment bolt wing nuts should be finger tight to allow for roof flex while maintaining the seal. Perhaps this foam seal is deteriorating, or losing it's elasticity. If the wing nuts are overtightened the seal cannot flex enough to maintain a constant water tight seal under roof flex.
