MaxxAir and other vent covers don't fit my vents???

Hi guys,

I bought two MaxxAir vent covers for my vents which have automatic cover lift and fantastic fans. So, I flip a wall switch and the cover tilts up and the fan starts automatically. I have a problem though, all the vent covers I've tried are about 4" too short. IE: the vent cover hits the MaxxAir cover before opening fully.

Are there special taller covers available? I don't see anything that calls this out as a problem I would have to adjust for.

Thanks for any info.

Darren

I open mine manually so when I bump the top I quit turning. I also remove the screen from the cover so it doesnot restrict the air flow through the Fantastic.

Fantastic - vent covers, made by the Fan company don't allow full opening either, 1" low . Installed 2 in last 3 months . The vent power lift is load sensitive and will stop the motor when the contact occours.
The biggest dis-advantage is the air flow restriction of the lower covers. Fantastic-vent lists restriction as less than 5% where other covers may be over 30% at the highest speed.

Ok, this is the bit of information I was missing... if it stops when it hits the top then great. I was also hoping I could set a stop point for the vent but I guess this is decent as well.

Thanks everyone for the quick responses... I'm going to go out and get the Fantastic Ultrabreeze vent covers. Looks like those have the best flow and height.

I have two fantasic fans. One in the bathroom is manual. One in the kitchen is auto rain sensing. I only put a MaxAir vent cover over the manual fantastic fans. And no - it does not open fully but I knew this. Vent covers, even if they do not allow the vent to be fully opened are still worth having.

And if you get the ones made by Fantastic Vent might consider getting their bug screens as well. Keeps bugs from climbing in and making noise until they figure their way out or die trying.
