From the RV Industry News--

Consumer confidence plummets to an all-time low
(Oct. 28, 2008) -- Looking ahead, consumers are extremely pessimistic, and a significantly larger proportion than last month foresees business and labor market conditions worsening. Their earnings outlook, as well as inflation outlook, is also more pessimistic, and this news does not bode well for retailers who are already bracing for what is shaping up to be a very challenging holiday season, according to The Conference Board Consumer Research Center
Dealers learn Ameri-Camp has discontinued operations
(Oct. 28, 2008) -- "It is with sincere disappointment that we write to inform you that, due to economic conditions, Ameri-camp has ceased it operations. Unfortunately, any remaining assets of the company are collateralized to secured creditors and there are no available assets to liquidate for payment to unsecured creditors," said Zemlyak. "Furthermore, as the company is no longer operating, there is no ability to provide any warranty on existing products. We regret the impact this has upon your business and hope you know we would not have made this decision if we had any other alternative."

Has anyone else noticed how consumer confidence rating is running right along side the approval ratings of congress?

Just think how bad the consumer confidence would be if it was dependent on Congress solving problems.
