johnnyringo, there is a publication that lists all the current manufacturers of travel trailers, fifth wheels and toy haulers and rates them in several categories.
It is the 'Travel Trailer & Fith Wheel' comparison guide by Randall Eaton. Not cheap, $69.95 but well worth the price especially for a newbie like yourself. They leave no stone unturned. Good luck in your search!

Nobody is perfect, but Airstream is as close as you can come. Of course, perfection comes at a hefty price. I would not buy new because of the price, but you can buy used without all the concerns of a motorhome. (was the oil changed on time, was the air filter changed, Did the previous owner drive it like he stole it. etc. I have owned four Airstream's and was pleased with all four.

I am with my second Keystone Passport, both were bought at Palm Beach RV. Never had any major issues with them, just same stuff as with other trailers, mostly related to suppliers, not final assembly. Internet reviews are highly biased, mostly due to negative selection. Same as with German cars. In real world I used to have celebrated Lexus rx350, and it was both numb to drive and poorly made. Since 2007 I have/had 3 Benzes, 2 of them high mileage, including the TV, and still wondering why they they are all talking about poor reliability and skyhigh maintenance costs

I have a new keystone Springdale 271 RL, I picked it up in March and spent the last several weeks going though the camper with some mods and checking for issues, so far very happy with the camper and it seems to pull well too. Hope this helps you

NO recommendation on a specific trailer. I will say that I have been pleased with General RV for showing me trailers that meet the requirements I have put out. My experience is with one of their stores in Michigan, but I note that they have a couple in Florida.
