Well everyone,

The deal on the Hi-Lo is off. Why? Although the dealer did come down (from the original $8995 to $7500) they were still way over Nada. Plus, this dealer kept telling us, "Oh, but this is a Classic Hi-Lo". PLEASE!!!

Anyhoo, I phoned Hi-Lo this morning because my husband and I had a couple questions about replacement parts, costs, etc. While on the phone I mentioned that these trailers seemed to be very high priced for even used models in our area. The employee (I won't mention names) asked where the dealer was located. All I got out was the city/state and the guy on the phone blurted out, "Oh you mean XXXX's?" and he chuckled.

I asked him if this was a "good chuckle" or a "bad chuckle" and he just said, "Oh, I've been there before."

After trying to question him further, and not getting any "real" answers, I came away with the distinct feeling that this particular dealer was not exactly on the "A" list.

So, we've decided to pass on this trailer because of the dealer. Is it a good trailer, maybe. But because of the "feeling" about the dealer I got from Hi-Lo, I'm not feeling exactly confident with making any type of deal with this dealer.

So, our little popup will do just fine until we find the "perfect" trailer out there somewhere else.

Probably a good decision. After our experience with our last dealer, I am 100% convinced that the dealer you work with can be more important than the RV you buy or the deal you get. A good price is soon forgotten when you cannot get good service.

Keep looking, you'll find a unit that fits your budget and your family. You are shopping in peak season right now, so you may need to be patient.

Good luck!
