Need Some Quick Help !

Hey All

Need your opinions of what to do. I recieved the 4 tires i order online today. Road Star by Kenda, 2 of them of them i'm happy with, little out of shape from packing and dated 2712, the other 2 dated 0711 and badly out of shape. I'm not happy with the age of them or the deformity.

My question is, will they come back to shape and should i bitch to the vender about the age and shape of these two 0711 dated tires ? I don't even see how the installer could even get the bead to set !

Thanks Jim

First off 7th week-2011 is more than 2 years old.....fact that is closer to 3 years old....To me that is too old to except as a "new" tire.

Back about 3 years ago purchased 4 tires for my SUV and they were going to put 2 year old / new tires on. I said no way..re-ordered fresh stock and got ones that were 6 month old.

I don't think the the "out of shape" problem is anything to worry about.

To me the production date of 7th week-2011 is the issue

The other two tires are dated 2712, which i don't feel too bad about, would be nice newer but i would deal with that. !

I wouldn't worry about shape, they will fix once seated.
But that is not "new."

While the shape may correct itself when the tire is inflated it still concerns me. Those two older tires were obviously on the bottom of a stack of tires. There is no assurance that internal harm was not done by all that weight. You won't know until the tire is installed, runs down the road and gets hot. That's when a tread separation would show up.

I'm subscribed to a thread called, "RV Tire Safety." There's a ton of information about the RV tires. I can't remember the exact facts on this but it was something about even driving 1 mile on an RV tire that is 10-20% below recommended tire pressure may do internal unseen damage to the tire.

While the deformity might not be a problem I still would get them replaced using the age as the reason.

Cool, it's good to see that there are still some good people/businesses out there.
