Negotiating price on a used TT with dealer

We just sold our 2005 keystone zeppelin and found a 2010 FR surveyor 295 in very clean condition. The TT was just traded in Friday and the dealer wants 13,900. Now the previous owner had it listed online and got frustrated with flakey buyers and traded it in before I could get there. Anyway I spoke with the PO about it and he says 2yrs ago he paid 13,900 and traded it in for 12,000. I think he only got that much because he bought a new 5th wheel from them. I was wondering where I should start my negotiation price? Thinking 11,500 just to establish where I'm at but don't want to offend the dealer. Any advice?
Thanks

NADA high retail is about 13,700 low is 11,400. A dealer is always trying to make out on both ends, but they also love to get them off their lot. Summers over so you should be able to get a deal. Offer them the 11,500 and don't be worried about their feelings, they have none. If you really LOVE the trailer negotiate as a really good one can disappear almost instantly, otherwise make the offer and go home and wait for their phone call.

A good place to check potential pricing is to visit the NADA website for this or any other potential deal. On the surface it don't seem like a bad price but with used RVs the condition is everything.

Hey guys I bought the trailer for 12,500. Seems pretty fair. I got a good deal and they made a little money too. They're going to put on a new A/C cover and skylight, as well as cleaning, inspecting appliances, and propane check. My wife's happy so I'm overjoyed. I'll put some pics up when I pick it up Thursday right before we head out on it's maiden voyage. Thanks for the help!
