We are looking at a new trailer that is on the market for the first time. Its is a new manufacturing company and thus a new brand of trailer. It is called Open Range. Does anyone have any experience with these folks.
And I am aware of all the horror stories and experience with first year models.

Happy Trails.......Essex

Never heard of them, but I thought I'd include the link to make it easier: Open Range

I looked at them at an RV show, they look nice - seem kinda lightwieght (the market segment that I think they are chasing).

I am always leery about being the first to try something out unless there is a significant benefit that I can see.

pros-
they will probably give good deal$ to break into the market.
they will probably work hard to honor warranty issus in order to build up a rep

cons-
they don't know what the "known" problems are, so every problem will be new, potentially without solutions, causing repeated trips to solve something they can't figure out the first time.

Not sure I would wish to jump into a new company in this economy. Check the financials and observe the number of good name companies that are in trouble, just sold or getting ready to close. Your warranty is useless if there is no company to cover it.

I looked at one at the RV show a few months ago. I noticed it had a new type of slide mechanism, cable operated. The cable passed against the slide-out seal, I think it would wear thru the seal pretty quick.
