New Travel Trailer Purchase
Purchasing a new travel trailer. Have it narrowed down to two models, Rockwood Mini Light 2104S and Cherokee Grey Wolf 20RDSE. Both are made by Forest River. The Rockwood seems to be made a little better. Rockwood has a slideout and Murphy bed. Concerns with slideout leaking and many concerns with Murphy bed - comfort, staying locked in place while traveling, staying locked in while deployed.
Rockwood has laminated sides, have concerns with delamination. Manufacture rep was spoke to and said Forest River is number one in the industry in making laminated walls and that they make their own, which keeps delamination to a minimum.
Cherokee has aluminum sides, no delamination. No slideout, but is roomy inside. My only concern is the material quality and craftsmanship is less than the Rockwood.

I haven't had either, but I would take a Rockwood over the Grey wolf. Any type of leak on the multiple seams on the aluminum sided trailer and you have the frame rotting out and you don't see it until its way to late. (My worst case scenario.)

It might be best to ask this question of other forest river owners within their forum.
Manufactures rep's job is to assure you that you need to buy their trailer. The delamination can happen to any manufacturers product. You need to know what they will do to help you solve the problem should you encounter this. Slide outs don't necessarily mean leaks. just as one piece roof membrane's will not mean that you cannot get a leak. If you provide proper maintenance, a topper for a slider you may be fine. Keep in mind that you get what you pay for.
Good luck I hope everything falls in place for you.

There should be a form in your paperwork for a 2nd year warranty from the factory. Cost will be $150 but you have 10 days to get it sent in. Many dealers don't tell the customer about it since they want to sell their own warranty. If you can't find the form call Ronda at 574-534-3167 have her email one to you.
Also join the Forest River Owners Group (FROG), it is free to join and they will keep informed of get togethers, rallys and other fun events. I would give you the web site but this forum doesn't like competition so just Google FROG RV Group.
