Newbie repair question

Hi! I recently bought a 1975 Winnebago camper trailer. The trailer is awesome except for a roof leak. My question concerns the repair of the ceiling. How do I seal it back up? It looks like an aluminum roof. After I get the leak stopped I need to replace the ceiling, so how do I do that?

Thanx in advance for the help!

Coyote

I would re-post this ? in the "Vintage RV" section of the forums. That's a popular / on-going repair request. Now I was at the RV show here in Cleveland yesterday, and one of the vendors was selling a service where he put on a 4 step process of a rubberized roof. It was 4 coats applied over what ever type of roof material you had. His company was called RV Roof Shield LLC. or RV Roof Shield The material after the 4th coat was about 3 times as thick as the rubber (EPDM) used on new trailer today.....

Since you must replace the interior ceiling, removing it first, so you may inspect the extent of damage before you begin throwing money at the problem is prudent. With an aluminum roof covering Aluminum Roof Coating you have several more options than what is available for a rubber roof. On an old trailer I had back in the 1970's I used. koolseal.com: Aluminum Roof Coatings is a popular coating for aluminum material.
