No Battery ?

Hello All !

Is it ok to leave your TT hooked up to AC with no battery in the TT ?

I would not do it. You can probably get away with it but a cheap converter may need the battery as a filter while an expensive one will get confused over the state of charge of the battery.

I think I would leave any cheap battery in it instead of no battery. See above.

You should be fine, converters are regulated power supplies, that also charge batteries.

Get your brand and model and Google it to confirm.

Just want to use the battery for my small winch in my hunting truck ( loading game ) just i could just leave it off AC for awhile ? The way this year is going, won't be used much !!!!

About the only Converter I know of that I would not recommend it is the Magnetak line. Specifically the 6300 line.. But even then they had a "Battery SImulator" (Big fat capacitor) and with it you would be OK.

DO NOT TOW without battery however.

All i'm talking about is the TT sitting in my backyard with or without a battery in it. I'l just leave it unhooked from shore power when i'm using the battery for another purpose .

Some, maybe all refers, require 12V when operating on propane so as long as you don't need that, you will be OK.

Co-worker plugged his trailer in without a battery and cooked his converter

Just make sure your wiring at the battery is not touching each other or ground if you remove the battery and keep it connected to A/C power.
