No tow-Haul switch on 2008 tundra crewmax

I just bought a used 2008 Tundra Crewmax LTD 4.7 and the invoice said it had a towing package(towing package is listed under standard equipment on invoice). It has the small factory radiator up front and the factory receiver hitch with factory tow plug, but it has no tow-haul switch inside. I notice when I turn the ignition switch on I see a A/T temp light but no gauge. Should I tow with it in drive or sequential mode. I also have a 2000 tundra 4.7 with 220K miles that has the tow switch on the shift lever but no tow switch on the 08 crewmax. What's the deal?

Call your nearest Toyota dealer and ask them. Sorry, that's all the advice I can give. Never known anybody with a Toyota. There are no dealers near me.

I would shift it manually to let it rev a bit more in each gear, which is essentially what tow/haul does.

The 2008 Toyota Tundra owner's manual indicates switch #15 does what you want. If it isn't there, I'd check with a Toyota dealer. Looks like you posted this question on several forums, including the Toyota forum. Hope you get an answer. Some may have the button on the end of the turn signal stalk.

I have called the dealer serveral times and even they don't know. It has the tow package but no tow haul switch. I have read the owners manual several times but it gives no definative answer. Mine is a 4.7 5 speed automatic. The 5.7 has a 6 speed automatic and a tow haul switch. yes I have posted on several forums but still no definative answer.

I traded in a 01 Grand Cherokee back in 08. It did NOT come with the towing package from the factory. Because I wanted to tow a small utility trailer I bought a used factory hitch and installed it. I made it clear to the dealer that it did NOT have that option.

They advertised it as having the tow package.

I Never, EVER trust a dealer.

You should be able to run the VIN to see if it came from the factory with a tow package.

I concur. I have a 2007 Double Cab LTD 5.7 Tundra 2WD with the Tow package. Got Two mirrors, bigger Alt/battery, trans cooler, and the proverbial Tow/Haul switch. All the switch does is delay the transmission upshift points. I can't vouch for the 2008 4.7 though. Your owners manual should be able to shed some light on your question. There is also a 1-800 number in the back of the owners manual for questions. Hope this helps.
