We use bottled water for drinking and cooking. Onboard tank disinfected periodically, filled from home or other known ok source. Filter on the city water line if connected to CG hookup.

We bring well water in jugs from home for drinking and cooking. We also use a filter when hooked up at camp grounds.

TPR valve should not be opened in my opinoin but then I often use the pump and tank instead of city water because of issues with city water in some locations (No not quality, quanity).

The Hot tank is also the pressure tank for the water system

NOTE: Pump and city water connect effetivally via a check valve and a "T" the Check valve is either in the city water inlet itself or in the pump (Depending on which one you are talking about)

So the RV works the exact same on both systems save it makes different noises.
