Talking Officially into trailer life

Went and gave a good look at the trailer Friday and found it to be in rather good shape. Everything looks/sounds solid. Water damage seems to have been caught quickly and repaired, so its minimal and mostly cosmetic as far as I can tell. Water heater developed a leak while we were there and since the location could not be confirmed the guy knocked of the cost of having it replaced. Other then that everything works ( as did the water heater) Over all a very clean unit compared to the many we looked at and then laughed at as we drove away.
I found it amazing just how much people thought the trailer they were selling was a "great buy"......whatever!!!!
New water heater goes in tomorrow, and then test the install for leaks, and make sure it works. Baring any suprizes I come out ahead money wise....lol

Good find! I did the same thing with a 78 Excel Search for my fix it up thread here. You'll have a lot of fun for little money and NO PAYMENTS! Mine has the exact same floor plan.

I really like the trailer. Old school is cool! Every time you repair or replace or modify some item it becomes more your trailer and you will enjoy it more. Let us know about your first trip.

Last owners put on "new" tires and wheels, and said they packed the bearings each year. I of coarse will check bearings and breaks come spring.

Right now I am removing the windows and setting new caulking tape to insure me years of leak free fun. Roof was sealed up last spring so I am hoping thats good for awhile.

Bathroom water damage is not as bad as I was thinking. A few feet of 2x2 and half sheet of paneling. Everything else seems rock solid....I am guessing they left the bathroom window open one season..

WOW, some people !!

I have started re-sealing all the window on my trailer and hit the upper left bunk window.......I knew I was going to have some work here because someone just slopped some crap all around it rather then take it out and do a clean job. I believe that if some people would think things through JUST A LITTLE, they would realize it would take less time and look much nicer to do that, rather then slopping crap all over and making it look like a 10 year old did it.
I don't know what they used but it is like concrete (over silicon, over caulking) and wont come off, so I have to live with some of it.
While I was up on the ladder, I figured I better look up on the roof. Yep it was sealed......AHHHHHH!!!! The same 10 year old did that job also!!!! Have to add that to my punch list also. Damn!!

Hmmm, must have been the same 10 yr old that did some sealing on our rv,, and yes with Cement !!! I even bought a heat gun to try to get it off,,, started bubbling the fiberglass so I gave up. Looks like crap when the rest of the motorhome looks good... GRRRRR
