On the road

Hey everyone, it's been a while since I have posted and I just wanted to let everyone know what was happening with me. My wife and I started RVng on 8/13/2012 and our first trip was to Montana. We got off to a very rocky start to say the least. On the first day in the first park (a very very dark park) we got caught by a tree limb that tore part of our awning off. In straightening out after that happened, someone left a picnic table half way onto the exit road and of course that got us to.

Happy to say that was the first and best lesson we had. We are in California now waiting for a new awning to come in and waiting to have our bedroom slide out repaired. With that all happening we love the road and have plans to continue to explore (after the repairs are done).

For all Newbies out there a gentleman and his wife who have been RVng for 20 years told me not to worry about what happened and just enjoy the life of leisure. It happens to everyone.

Our very first trip we pulled into a campground after dark. A large limb I couldn't see left a nice, still visible, scratch the length of the coach.
Lesson one....get to RV park before dark.

I agree 100% and since then we have planned all our trips to be at the parks by 4pm to avoid any unseen problems in the dark.
