On the road again....for the first time!

I always wanted a vintage travel trailer, and a couple of weeks ago I finally got one. It is a pretty much clean as a whistle 1963 Aristocrat Lil Loafer, and I *love* it! It was torn apart and rebuilt a bit more than 4 years ago (I have a whole scrapbook of glossy 8x10's and a meticulous list of everything the owner-before-last bought to rehab it!) The interior needs a little help, but even that is in ready to travel shape. So why am I not camping? I am taking her in to have the propane line and connections checked, and to look into why the left turn signal and brake light don't work. Safety first!

There are no leaks now that I can find, but I have some concern about the butyl putty (at least I am supposing that's what it is) in the J channels. It is by and large looking cracked and possibly open to water getting in. The paint job extends over the putty where the edge meets the metal J Channel, so while the seal may not be broken I am concerned that this might be the time to remove the hex screws and J channel and replace the putty, then remove the paint and repaint. What do y'all think? Thanks for any direction you can give me. 😃
