Have an Onan 4k w/540 hrs. It would not start the other day. When I tried to start the generator it sounded like a bad terminal connection. I got a clicking sound. I also got a code 32. I cleaned all the terminals but to no avail. Has this happened to antone else?

go to your owners manual and lookup the code 32. that should give you an idea of where to look.

This is an example;

LOW CRANKING SPEED FAULT—CODE NO. 32
(Cranking speed less than 180 rpm for more than 2 seconds)
Corrective Action:

1. Replace
Fuse F2 (starter solenoid) if blown (Page 6).
2. Clean and tighten the positive (

+) and negative () battery cable connections at the battery and at
the genset (Page 16).
3. Recharge or replace the battery. Refer to the battery manufacturer’s recommendations.
4. Replace the engine oil with oil of proper viscosity for the ambient temperature (Page 15). (High oil viscosity can slow cranking speed.)

Good luck. This is from the owners manual for my generator. not sure if it is the same as yours. If you go to the Cummins/Onan site (http://www.cumminsonan.com) then go to the RV section and lookup owners manuals. You will need your gen-set model #.
