My Turn
my converter just gave up the ghost, i presume about three days ago, because this morning my heater sounded a bit FLAT in speed, so my first thought was it was dying...
so then i checked my power panel and it showed my batteries at 1/3 power

have a new one on order, but that's not going to get here till weds.
and all but one of our lights are 12v,
any ideas on what may have happened?
i have a built in surge guard from surge guard, we did have a power incident on weds,
no other symptoms,
been awhile since i was at DARKEN ship

If you don't already have one, go buy a cheap 20 amp battery charger and get your batteries back up to snuff. Understand that your fridge needs 12 vdc to operate, even if you're plugged into shore power. Fill your battery water before you start the heavy charging. Disconnect or turn off your inverter if you have one.

As for why it all happened, who knows... If the surge guard was "protecting" last Wednesday, be glad.

As for your replacement converter, I'd strongly recommend a Progressive Dynamics 9200 series converter with a 3 stage smart charger.

Ditto the Progressive Dynamics 92XX (XX is the amp rating) converters. I've had other converters fail, but never a PD9-series. In addition, the smart charging 3 stage (4 stage if you count desulfation) battery charge function will be your batteries' best friend.

ups delivered it at 1100
i finished up at 430 pm
when forest river built the coach, they didn't cut the 12x 12 hole to 12 x 12
so i had to build a new trim panel and make the hole 12 x 12

no more darken ship
