Outdoors RV 23RKS Trip Update
Well after the long wait to use our new trailer we finally got away for two weeks. We ended up at Sun Lakes in eastern WA then to Wapato Lake in Manson and then to Confluence Park in Wenatchee. The trailer was great and tows really nice. We did have a couple of issues that I will need to look into.
1. The refrigerator did not want to cool when the outside temps were above 85. Running it on gas was better but it was struggling to keep up. After doing some research it seems to be a common problem and may have to add some fans to move air across the coils. I do remember another Outdoors RV owner having some problem with their refer, but I am unable to locate it in our very long thread.
2. The A/C would only bring the inside temp down to 80 during the day when the outside temps were 100 plus. I might have to have the dealer look at this.
3. I am noticing spots of grease on the inside of the wheels. My guess is the axle seals or bearing caps are leaking. I will have to pull the hubs and check things out. I will take pictures as I go and send the bills to Outdoors, maybe they will cover the cost of the parts.
All in all everything went well and we are happy with the new smaller trailer. I do have to admit that there were times that we missed the space in our larger trailer. While coming back I went across the scales and the trailer weighs in at 6160 on the axles. For a two week trip and the items that we loaded I was surprised to see it that low.
