OutdoorsRV power supply switch for entertainment center outdoorsrv

My oldest recommended putting in a master power switch for the Jensen entertainment package, because they burn out after a couple of years. Can anyone confirm this? Does anyone have a procedure recommendation?
Also, I stopped by Camping World to pick up an inline water filter ( I've a bit of phobia about moldy water lines and pumps), and I decided to save money by buying a $30 Camco inline filter, that lists more items filtered than did the more expensive filters, and I plan to only keep it for about three or four months before pitching it in the landfill. Anyone have comments?

I've got the same phobia and that's why I don't have a filter. I find it easier to drain everything after each trip using the low point drains. With a filter any nasty thing you catch will grow in the warm wet filter and you'll then take perfectly clean water and run it through the exact same filter the next time you go out. Boiling is a better idea and a whole lot cheaper. Just my opinion, DW and I have been hauling our drinking water from the city and using the CG water for dishes and washing. Seems to be working.

Not sure about them burning out, however I installed switches on the radio and the TV so I can turn them completly off when dry camping. All electronics will pull power even if they are off.
As for mold in the water lines, PEX will not grow mold. You may get a bad taste or smell but that can easily be fixed with a bleach and water solution. Filters are a good thing as long as you monitor the filter cartridge. This why I use a filter housing with a replaceable cartridge. I can see what is going on inside and replace when need be. If the filter is sealed you have no idea what is growing in there and you can not take it apart to let it air dry for the next trip.
This is my 2 cents.

I put an on/off switch for the radio so I could completely turn it off. I personally wouldn't bother with a "master" switch for it, I don't know what good it would be.

When I put the on/off switch in, I added an A/B/C switch so I could direct all inputs (antenna TV, cable TV, satellite TV and DVDs to all 3 TV locations. Works great, when I remember what my A, B, Cs are...
