Parking on a hill

We are getting a larger TT going from 25 feet to 31 feet. We store the camper at home on our drive way. Our driveway is not too long and is on a hill. Last year we extended the driveway 28 feet (slight incline) to park the TT. To park the new TT in the same spot the tongue jack will be significantly lower than the back end. Does this cause too much stress on the tongue jack or should we use cinder blocks or something else to bring it closer to level for storage?

Do not use a cinder block under the jack; the pressure point can shatter the block. The jack will be more stable with the least amount of extension possible, so many people block under them , use wood , a block of 8X8 , would be preferred , but gluing and screwing 2X4 pieces every level across the one below to your desired height with a metal contact plate for the jack will work, you may have to wedge the stack to make it stable on the ground depending on the slope.
Remember that the plastic wheel chocks can crumble, so use wooden chocks or the solid rubber ones

choicks

a decent rubber chock should run about $22

put them out before you exit the truck.

When I was in your situTion, I cribbed 18" 6x6 blocks up to the height I needed. I used my power jack and my truck receiver ball to lift and stack each set of blocks, one level at a time. I would need to build my crib to about 3' high, leaving the jack as short as possible. I would chock my tires and use X-Chocks to keep the trailer from moving.

I would recommend a tongue jack extension to bring it to level for storage.

I would not recommend cinder blocks or concrete products like paver stones, etc. They can crack and crumble under the concentrated compression load of a trailer tongue jack.
