Parkit 360 Vs. Airtug trailer Movers
When we purchased our new Winnebago Ultralite 30RESS a month ago, we new that the only way we could own a trailer is that it would require us to purchase a machine to turn it around up at our house. I have information on both companies with experience that could be useful to anyone that is in the market. First we went with the Parkit 360HD/ battery powered w/ large upgraded tires and returned it after one use. When you do your research the slowness of the machine is important. The 5 min. on and then the 5 min. off to cool is a big dang deal. Plus the machine is very slow. Took me an hour to make my three point turns to turn it around and back it into my RV pad. The way you also connect the trailer to the unit is very difficult to keep tight. Very Very difficult to turn the unit with full force. Wheels are very close together so the unit would lean in. After the first use I knew I had to return it or take a loss. I paid $1800. Sent an email to the company and the owner called me directly the next day letting me know that he will take the unit back and I would only pay a 10% restocking fee and he would pay the shipping. He even put that in writing... After everything was said and a few more emails last week not only did I pay the 10% but that they also took $240.00 for the shipping. No emails returned. The owner did say they are in the process of design changes and this would be a better unit for the larger trailers.
Airtug TT-HD-GM15: More money but the unit works fantastic. Operates with an engine, tires are spread apart and you just connect it like you would with any trailer hitch. Down fall is the price. $3,700 w/shipping. I was able to move the trailer in 10 minutes. It has a lot of power and turning it is a breeze. In the end, really take a look at your situation and don't purchase based on price. The 360 would probably work for someone that has a small trailer and needs something to just back it into a tight garage. But, if you made the mistake I did, it will cost you a few hundred to try it out.
