Plumbing pipe repairs

Is there an industry standard for what type of potable water piping is used for an RV. I have to make a repair on one of mine that feeds the bathroom sink. It looks like polyethylene tubing. Calipers call it 1/2" OD. I don't think this is PEX. It's also a bit translucent, not white.

My plan was to do an inline repair to a small pin hole. Cut the tubing right at the pin hole and install a straight connection there.

You should be able to use any fittings that are available from Lowes or Home Depot. I have used the compression type fittings to make changes and or repairs without any problems.

I had a pipe/tubing burst so I went to the dealer and they gave me the pipe/tubing recommended for my TT. same price as Big Box stores.

You may be able to use "Shark" fittings on your PEX and not have to get the crimping tool and crimp rings usually used. Any plumbing or big box store should have them. You just cut and push them on.

Home Depot has them,I think they are called "shark Bites"

That tubing is PEX and Shark Bites work GREAT!

I don't care for Shark Bite fittings. PEX is great tubing, and that's probably what it is, it's very common. I prefer Flair It fittings.

No idea where to get Flair It but the shark bite one's are at the big box stores and work well. YMMV.
