Power awning.

Just had a Dometic 9100 power awning installed. I wanted to know if I had to tighten the support arms every time I open it? See attached picture.

I have a power awning also. It looks like your pic mine is supposed to auto dump if it rains and collects water. I was thinking that if you lock it it wont dump not sure I would also like to know.

I was thinking the same thing. When I read the (one page) manual it did not say anything about locking the arms unless you want to pitch it for rain run off. I guess we are right.....no tightening needed!

I follow the instructions from the dealer where I bought my travel trailer: leave loose in dry weather and while retracting/extending. Angle and tighten during rain for water run-off.

You have the same awning I have. What I do is open it and tight the black screws, however, I still tie down the corners to the ground. Water will run off if you lock it on an angle. I tie it down to prevent moving with wind

How long is your awning? When you tilt does it still pool anywhere on the awning? My awning is 18ft.

Water run off the sides, just tilt and tight the bolt at the angle you want. I took a good look at it this past weekend as it rain while we were camping at Myrtle Beach, SC.
