Prime Time Lacrosse TT -- thoughts?

We had it all figured out: we were getting a 5th wheel. Then we started backtracking some of the places we've been and realized the height of a 5th wheel wouldn't fit down those roads. We'd take out trees and/or lose our A/C. So now we're back to travel trailers.

We've found a Prime Time Lacrosse bunkhouse model that, quite frankly, feels like a 5th wheel in a TT body. The price is right too. But we don't know much about the line and I'm having trouble finding reviews on them.

Can anybody provide feedback? Pros? Cons? Thanks in advance!

We looked at them. really nice looking trailers and well appointed. I was concerned about the schintek slides and the cable slides they come with. I also don't remember what type of frame was under them. I suspect it is a one piece I beam on the lacrosse. We could not make the numbers work at the dealer so I sort lost interest after that.

Jayco Eagle, Grand design reflection, highland ridge all make similar high end TTs. Personally I felt like the Jayflight was comparable to them when loaded up with all the options.

Thank you, 2500HD. I appreciate the points. This would be our third rig but our first with slides, so our knowledge of the mechanics of slides is fairly absent. The frame is i-beam, bonded all-aluminum structure.

We looked at the JE, GD, and HR models, but the CCC of each was so low it concerned us. This particular PT had a CCC of more than 2800#.

It seemed like a quality, solid rig (calibers higher than the 2 TTs we have experience with). Just can't find much info or reviews on it to finalize our decision.

The slides system would be my only concern then if you know the frame is a one piece I beam. Powergear or Lippert power gear is preferable.

I have a current ratings book, 'Travel Trailer & Fifth Wheel Comparison Guide', by Randall Eaton. They use 3 different classes, Premium (P), Above Average (AA) & Entry Level (E). Prime Time is in the AA category, ranked 13th out of 17 manufacturers with 76 out of 100 points and an 8 rating! They're rated in 4 different categories, Construction (19), Customer Satisfaction (20), Dealer Rating (19), Resale Value (18). They write, it's a small company with quality products! Hope that helps a little, good luck!
