ProFlex RV Sealant

I had a leak on one of my TT Windows. I pulled the window out and I am 98% sure I found the problem. There was a gap in the old sealant along the top of the window. So, today, I reinstalled it using two strips of butyl tape because I have that kind of siding that is has waves in it. Anyway, I plan to run a bead of Proflex RV sealant around the top and sides to ensure a good seal. I would really like to do that tomorrow after I trim the excess butyl tape. The problem is that it is supposed to rain the following day. The directions say the Proflex will dry tack free in 3 hours, but won't fully cure for six days. Will it be a problem if it gets rained on just a day later after I apply it? Or should I wait for longer stretch of dry weather? It could be a while if I do that.

If you can't fix it with a hammer, it is an electrical problem.

Gets a skin pretty quick, so I would not worry. If you are worried, ise some balls of tape and plastic wrap to make a temporary cover.

That stuff sets up real fast. Too fast to easily work. It's un-spreadable in a minute. Get some blue masking tape and use it to make a nice edge. If you try and spread it with just your finger you'll end up with a big wide line of caulk. It gets tacky so fast that you only have one shot to get it right. It's not like house latex caulking thats workable for a goo minute or 2.
I wouldn't worry about the rain.

Thanks cumminsfan. I just did the caulking. I used blue painters tape on the black edges of the window, but, I didn't put it on the RV wall. That would have probably been a big help. As you described, it is tough to work with and messy and hard to remove once it comes in contact with a surface. Of course my work looks amatuer, but I think I got a good seal on the top and two sides. It is supposed to rain after midnight tonight, and I think I can put the awning out a few feet and that should keep it mostly dry, but I think it would be OK anyway....it does set up fast.
One piece of advice is to not try to put a lot of caulk in the seam. Unless you have a big valley to fill, the stuff will just squish off to the sides as you smooth the seam making a mess to both sides. The tape will greatly solve that problem, but just use a little smaller bead than you "think" you will need.

Thanks to everyone on here that offered advice and tips. It helped greatly and I think I got my issue solved now.
