Propane detector problems

We have a 2014 puma tt and our propane detector goes off a few times a week. We have it set up at a seasonal sight. We had to call the local fire dept because of the alarm going off while it was being used by family members. They checked the system and told us that there were no leaks as they were there for a couple of hours with their propane testing equipment. Wew have contacted the dealer were we bought the TT through and they have continued to not return any of our calls. Any thoughts?

Mine went off a few weeks ago in my toy hauler while running the water heater. What I have figured out (I think) was the window was open close to the water heater with a slight breeze blowing and the fumes from outside were sucked inside causing the alarm to go off.
2 more days without alarm going off with window closed, problem solved.

Water heated is in the back of our TT and the furnace is near the front....

Rick blow it out with a air hose and this solve your problems.

We had our battery disconnected and it was left on in place on the TT over the harsh New England winter. It is now connected but could this have something to do with setting the alarm off as far as the battery being low or having a dead cell? The TT is always connected to shore power.

Do you have a dog? Dog farts have been known to set off the alarm.

This is very frustrating to us to the point were my wife is ready to give up the whole idea of staying in the TT.

Several issues and a question: You said "It goes off"
Beep.........long pause..........beep
or BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP (continous beep)
or fast beep beep beep

The first is a System majfunction. OFTEN low battery or low voltage.
The other two, depending on the brand is ALARM.

Now: we call it a "Propane" detector cause that is what we want to know about but fact is it is an "Explosive gas" detector.

Alcohol
Gasoline
Methane (Fart gas)
Propellant used in assorted aerosol cans.
and several other things will trip it.

Also, if it gets wet it mine will alarm.


If you think it might be actual explosive gas.. Several places (Including some RV places) sell a hand held "Wand" that will give you a digital display (Concentration) use the wand to track the source and .. You will know.
