Purchase new travel trailer

Shopping for new TT. Reviews online are scary! Concerned about 'leaking roof' issues. Currently considering Outback, Dutchman/Aspen, Coachman/Catalina. Have been camping for 53 years and really enjoy it. Have to get a new trailer as our current Fleetwood/Wilderness Yukon is 12 years old and leaking...NO FUN. Any feedback or suggestions would truly be appreciated. Thank you. Gruffer from Lillian Alabama

You will find that 75% of review on this type of site are negative in nature. With that said we our on our second TT the first one was a keystone and we had a water leak from new and the front panel had to be replaced along with the axles which were bent. We now have an open range and so far have only had a couple of minor issue. The key to buy the trailer is a good inspection and knowing what to look for. checking the roof seam for cracks is on of them. The other thing is the dealer find a good dealer and they will get the issue fixed for you in a stress free way.

Hope this helps. And good luck.

Have 2 dealers in our area with decent reputations. Comparable TTs ..Keystone most expensive..doesn't have comfort or storage as Dutchman or Coachman, however construction seems to be better. No decision as yet. Appreciate your reply. Thanks

dealer is key...
second.. minimum amount of seams to leak.
good amount of sealant used to seal seams..
Yes, You need to LOOK at roof.. before purchasing. and around vents/AC unit. every place something pokes up thru the roof.

also.. 5 people with complaints on internet.. may equal 50 or even 100 with no problems.

if you can't do it have someone check the roof every 2 years.
