The Yukon Denali XL is a different animal than the vanilla Yukon. I've got a neighbor with an XL who tows a Grand Design Imagine between Florida and Virginia. I agree to check the white label with the yellow marking sticker on the driver's door. But, for the weight Trailer you'll be towing, I think you'll be fine. However, you absolutely need a good weight distribution hitch with a sway control system. Enjoy!

Easy, try the Yukon XL with the powerful 6.2 litre engine. Chances are you will like it and it will handle the trailer ok. If staying kinda local and on back roads you will be fine.

I towed at the max weight for 3 years as I stayed local and only towed 25 - 30 miles most of it on back roads. My truck did great up to 55mph. There is a huge difference between towing on back roads vs the highway.

So try it and see how well it does. If you do not like it then get a bigger TV.

I am also new to RVing. I was a boater before and visited a campground and found it was full of very fine and accommodating people much like in the marina's I stayed in. I have a 2018 4 wheel drive Tahoe with a 6400 towing max and I purchased a 2019 Grand Design Transcent Xplor 26 with an empty weight of 5389. I have towed it once. The sales person said I would not put 1000 lbs in the unit so it should be fine. Is this correct?

Andy1953 - probably not. IMHO that trailer is too big for your SUV.

Your Tahoe will tow it well, but it would be a struggle if you ever cross the Rockies. I used to have a sunburn to tow my 5k dry trailer. All was well until I hit the mountains. Now I drive an Expedition EL with the ecoboost engine. If you want to stick with a newer SUV, the Expedition is the only one that can tow your rig. A 3/4 truck will be even better though.
