quick question about propane
Do you turn off your tanks after every trip? The guy at the walk through said their always on which just seems strange...

Never turn ours off except to fill it. 40 gallon tank so 32 gallon usable.
Newer tanks/cylinders have a high flow cutoff so if a line ruptures the flow is shut off. That's why some people have trouble with getting propane into the rig after they shut the flow off, they turned it on too quickly and activated the valve.

What about the slow leaks? I always shut off bbq grill tanks and the camper tanks when I am not using the camper. It saves from losing propane to a phantom leak when it is not in use!

I shut the propane of between trips. That does mean that I do have to purge the lines each time to clear the air, because there are very small leaks. It is nat hard to trun one or two valves off.

My '07 Chapparal owners manual recommends turning them off. Also, disconnecting the battery after a trip. We just bought it in March and I learned another newbie lesson on our 3rd trip last month. Check the water in the battery. I didn't and I shorted it out. New RV/Marine battery from Wal-Mart...$68, but they gave me $9 for the old one.
