Having not read all replies look up soft start for rv AC units. Will start AC on 2000w .Or Hybrid magnum invertor it's like $1700 if there is room for system and at least 2 golf cart batteries. You could chose 15amp from genny it will start AC not run it past 60% load if if that's all running. Of course decent skills required.

Recent change of direction.

I have a 50 amp TT, and I run a Champion 3,400 watt propane fueled inverter generator that I keep in the bed of the truck. Very quiet. Yes, I can hear but it’s not obnoxious given that it’s not normal to run them during quiet hours. And x2 on easy start for the AC unit.

Congrats on your jump into the truck and TT. There are lots of little tricks to make things easier. I have taken my truck and TT many places that a big MH just isn't going to go and I can back it up all I want if needed without un hitching. You have the best bang for the buck now. With my shell camper I have all the storage I ever want.

We did the same a few months ago. Both of us felt that the 33' motorhome was too much so we decided to simplify to a Avalanche and a R-pod 20' TT.

As for power, we like to boondock so solar panels are going on it in the next few weeks. The R-Pod came with a 13.5 a/c which is overkill, so I am thinking about swapping it out for a 9200 Coleman Mach 8 Plus Cub which is 9200 btu & 1559 running watts. Then a Honda 2000 will handle the small a/c with no issues.
