Reese weight distribution hitch

Heading out this weekend and thought I'd get acouple pics of my hitch that I will soon be replacing. I Think this is a horrible design after purchasing around 4 years ago I spent a lot of money on this setup any body else have the same hitch with this issue? Click image for larger version

That's a pile of wear. Have you an idea of your total miles towing.
When did you loose the retainer caps?

Metal to metal joints with no grease will wear. I greased my weight bars. Yes I have the same hitch head. Nine years now.

Reese instructions:

LUBRICATION
1. Place several drops of oil at spring bar / ballmount contact points. Excess oil, dirt, and grit should be wiped out whenever trailer is uncoupled.

The Curt system is almost identical to the Fastway E2 Trunion system. Curt used a much thinner L bracket and trailer bracket bent into a C channel on their setup. I've heard several complaints that they bend easily and do not provide the strength needed to support the trunion bars for very long. I would suggest you get the Fastway E2 Square Trunion system for about the same price (perhaps even a little less) because their L bracket system is made of much thicker metal.

I have the Fastway E2 Round Bar setup, which actually works pretty well, but because of the very high winds we constantly have here in South Texas, I wanted a bit of overkill, so I'm going to the Equal-i-zer Setup.

If you are interested in my E2, I will sell you everything for $200 plus the cost of shipping. Its only been used 3 times. I will include the factory 6" Drop shank (the one in the picture is the 11" I ordered to fit my lifted F250)

Thanks for the offer but like I said I'm going to wait for spring because of the cost of the fall fling and my TT will be staying there till beginning of November. Plus this is our favorite place and they allow golf carts and we purchased one and Iam getting carried away with it
