Refrigerator
We are headed out tomorrow for our first camping trip and I was wondering when should I turn on the gas to start getting the refrigerator cold? We are headed out tomorrow around noon.

It takes an RV frig about 18 hours to cool out and then you only load it with chilled foods. The trailer also needs to be sitting relatively level to operate the frig. The manual will tell you the off level limits. If you operate very far off level, it will ruin the frig.

The newer refers are much less susceptible to problems from being out of level. If you're comfortable in the unit then it's level enough.

We leave ours on 24/7/365 with no problems although I did have to defrost it yesterday.

The only problem for some ( including me ) is that it cost $ 20.00 - $30.00 a month to run , depending on your rates. Mine was closer to $30.00. My MH sits for six months , that $180.00 buys some fuel  .

A little last for this but you could just plug your trailer into a 15/20 amp plug if you don't have 30 amp near by and let it cool down on electric.

If you have 120V power to the coach, you can run the refr on electricity, then swap to gas when traveling without 120V power.
