Rims/tire nightmare
I just recently purchased new tires for my 98-99 Fleetwood Prowler 24J. Apparently where I purchased it from had the wrong rims and tires on it. I didn't know about the rims until I had them mounted. The moisture barrier is completely gone. I am trying to find the proper rims because the one with the different rim is actually touching what's left of the inside wall and the other three as I learned belong to a Ford ranger. Does anyone know the exact size of the rim I am supposed to have on this camper. The depth from front to back??? We have to haul this thing 700 miles.

It appears that only the wood is damages. We plan on doing a lot of work to it once we get it home. After extensive research, I found that the rim depth should be 5" but the Ford rims that are on it are 7" this is a must fix and I finally found the rims at 20 each.

Man, I'm sorry for your predicament. I once had a blowout that ripped thru the floor under the kitchen sink. I made temp repairs with tin roof flashing and some screws. It's rolled up so just cut as much as you need and screw it down over the hole. Tools needed... Flashing, screws, drill/driver and scissors/snips.
It kept out bugs and moisture and kept the cool air in the camper. Good luck.

Those look like directional traction tires... not sure that is a good choice for a trailer.

So the offset on the existing rims is too deep causing the tire to rub the inside?

Yes that is the trouble. The tires I purchased are the tires recommended by Fleetwood. Thanks

The only rims I've eve seen for rv's already have tires mounted on them. Our Walmart has a few. The Lowes and Home Depot have a few. A Tractor Supply seems to have more, but all with tires. And seemingly pricy. Not sure where you can get them plain.
Edit. e trailer d to the ot com has rims only

Looks like some wires might have got rubbed a bit too. Maybe you can find some hard plastic material and slip in behind what is there. Looks like it's going to be a somewhat tricky repair.

On E Bay you can buy ABS plastic sheets in all different sizes and thickness, you can heat it and form it anyway you want .

Good idea. Remember too, the black DWV pipe at Lowes and Home Depot is ABS so the glue for that will glue the plastic sheet. May be able to cut a square and glue it right on top of the damaged area.

All tires have approved rim sizes. However, RV trailer rims need to be zero off-set.
You can look at web sites like etrailer below for appropriate rims.

Whoever sold you that trailer with nonstandard trailer rims should be responsible for the damage they caused. Personally I'd take them to small clams court if they wont pay for the damages.
