Roebic K-57?

Been lurking for a while and decided to join. I just bought a mallard camper from an older lady. It has been well taken care of. I checked the black tank and it had no odor but it does have a dried out pyramid forming. I have read that ridex can swell and make sewer issues worse. I saw Roebic K-57 emergency septic tank treatment anybody have any experience with that product? Wife an I are planning a trip in a few wks. I was thinking of putting that in to begin digesting then dumping ice on there before leaving and then fill up the tank and dump upon arrival at the KOA. Any thoughts?

I have used this product several times when the black tank began to smell or the sensors would always read "full". I would wait until I could allow the 5er to sit for at least a week, then fill the black tank by the rinsing connection and add an entire bottle of Robec Lateral Line and septic tank cleaner. DW was always happy with the results, and I was happy she was happy. We never did have any problems with dumping the tank, but I also never did get the level sensors to work properly_.

You could try the ice trick. I myself have not had to do this because my TT is brand new.

But if your unit does not have a tank flush on it. You could try a back flushing unit.

I bought one called the flush king. From what I can see it works well.

Now I am a bit picky about things. So even after we have been dry camping. I will book a night at a full hook up site and then dump my tank there and do my back flush.

I have done this every time. So from what I can see my tank is coming out nice and clean. It has the clear tube so you know when things are clean.

Also I swaped to rv toilet paper. I did the test and my home paper did pass the break down test. But after using the flush king I found the home paper did nont break down as good or fast as the rv stuff. But please use what you feel comfortable with.

Happy trails.

my trailer doesn't have a tank flush unit installed yet. I'm going to get the crap (literally) cleaned out and install a tornado unit since that appears to be the best in tank unit. I was trying to find what some of the OEM tank flushers are but have been unsuccessful so far.
