Roof creaks when I am on it
Hello, anyone know exactly what 5" laminated crowned roof is? I have a new Coleman, and when I am on the roof cleaning, putting cover on etc, I sometimes hear a slight cracking noise, makes me very nervous! I am around 150 lbs. Any thoughts?

Mine does it too , flagstagg 33' TT .. Try to support your weight with thin plywood covered in cardboard or carpet .. Stay away from openings
I made mine to stand on 12" x 36" . Drill a hole in the end and put a rope on the end to move it around

What trailer do you have?
5" is only the rise of the roof from the roof base studs. Essentially ceiling to roof.
That's not the construction.

I'm glad you put your weight on there because the first thing I was going say was that might be an indication that you need to go on a diet.

Roof noises
Thanks for the replies! I noticed when I was up there that the front end seems to have virtually no support under it. (Camper has a rounded front, not square if that makes sense). I think I read that Coleman's have a 3/8" plywood base on the roof? That does not seem very sturdy to me. I cannot imagine that the manufacturers think that people will not need to get on the roof.... Camper is a 2012 Coleman 289RL. So if I make a plywood base how thick would you recommend? And yes, I do need to go on a diet! Too many camping weekends have done me in!

3/8" roof is usually standard, and perfectly fine.
It's not causing any damage.
