Roof tear

Being over confident on where a TT will fit can cause problems.
I recently pulled my 2013 Tracer TT under a low hanging tree. The tree branches looked very small... Unfortunately it punctured the leading edge where the rubber roof meets the side wall.

I went to an RV store and purchased a very expensive roll of sticky rubber patching and some sealant. I spent a couple of hours cleaning and applying the repair patch and then sealing it with the goop.
I think I did a good job but wonder if I should replace the whole roof rubber??? And how much would that cost???
Either way I'm going to avoid trees...

That tape and lap sealant is as good as gold, it will hold up for a very long time. No need to be in a rush to teplace the entire membrane

Tape is fine, but insurance would possibly replace the entire roof, if you went that route.

You can replace the roof yourself for $1000 or so, but a shop doing it right would be $4000 or so since you have to replace/cover the existing decking for a good substrate to adhere the new membrane to.

Thanks I think I will leave it as it is. I'll check it throughout the winter to make sure...

A tear in the roof, while a pain, is not as bad as some "accidents" I've seen. Branch take AC unit off the roof. Punctured skylights etc.
Talk to your insurer and see what they offer.
