Rubber roof repair v replace

My roof is showing black in some spots, where the white has worn off. Is it better to do a total replacement or can I use some of the liquid roof repair to " repaint" a new roof. The latter definitely looks like a cheaper option. Does anyone have any experience with this?

I have read a lot about it on the Motorhome section. It works well according to what I have read. It costs a few hundred dollars in lieu of a few thousand for a replacement. You could probably find a lot of threads with a search.

From what I have read, you can get the appropriate product and coat it without the full replacement. Replacement would definitely be needed if cracking, etc.

I recoated my EPDM roof last spring.

I didn't have any ;leaks, but the 17 year old roof was in need of something, so after researching, I decided to recoat it.

I wrote a short article on my blog site

Re-coating EPDM roof | 2001 Coachmen Mirada 300QB

NOTE - In the photos, After the coating cured I got some white restolium spray paint, and painted the skylight. It still lets in some light, but greatly decreased the amount of heat, AND from the outside it looks good...
