Sagging slide out

I am looking to purchase a 2002 New Vision Ultra 34’ fifthwheel, on one of the slide outs, it looks as if it is sagging down and the owner said you have to pick up on it to let it in. Any ideas what is causing this problem?

You should not have to pick up on a slide out for it to be retracted. At all. Most likely it is just out of adjustment, this is often seen in cable slide models. An RV repair shop can remedy the condition, or you may be able to pick up enough knowledge on Youtube to do it yourself. But it should not be this way, and I would do a very (and I mean very) close inspection of the seals and floor area in and around the slide to assure myself of no water damage causing the issue or as a result of the issue before pulling out the checkbook.

I would be very skeptical of the maintenance that has been done, (or not done), if this is what the seller feels is an acceptable method to use the slide.

Look for any staining or soft spots on floor and roof, stains on ceiling or walls etc. These are signs of water damage and usually is far far worse than what you see on the surface.

Walk away. If it doesn't work as intended I would not buy it. Structural issues are not easily fixed. It is one thing to replace a fridge but to repair a slide is a task requiring lifts and hoists.

X2...if it has been this way for awhile, good chance water has found its way in.
Have it inspected for rotted wood, mold and other damage if you really want to buy it. Huge project to repair and make right.

Wow !! This should be a minor fix at a local RV dealer. To sell an RV, you want to do any repairs and clean-up to present it at its best to the buyer. If the seller cannot be bothered doing a minor repair, imagine what else he isn't doing.

Run away !! Run away fast !!
