Salem Ma.

I know this is a bit early BUT, When I went last year I had to make reservastions a year in advance to get a room in Danvers. I know they have an RV park at the water in Salem that has everything but sewer. My question, has anyone OR is anyone planning on going to Salem for the Witch Trials and etc. this year in October AND are you going with your RV? or have you gone before? I am interested in taking the old hotel on wheels and am wondering if it is doable thing or not. I know when I was there the air was COLD off the water.... and logistics like propane and supplies are a bit sketchy with the whole town in crowd mode....

Thoughts?

ha!, If only I hadn't had that glass of wine last night and then started typing....

what I meant to ask was has anyone gone too or have plans on going to the mock with trials and witch "stuff" that is going on in Salem? it gets real interesting in October.

I am originally from Salem, and have had enough of that time of year. Not to mention Im related to one of the original judges

Anyway, I looked into winter island as well, and it does look like a great option for a visit to Salem no matter what time of year it is. their season if from May 19th to October 31st, and they do have a dump station near by (so Im told). The prices seem very very reasonable as well. If we do decide to go this year, I will report back how it went.

Here is a link to their site. Good luck

FWIW - We were in Salem a few years ago in a 22 ft C. There was no place to park. We called a couple of information sources and they all said no MH parking in the village, best to come in using mass transit. Since we did not have a towed we moved on. The area around the Witch museums is Old New England village tight and crowded. Be prepared for that.

Yes, that is very true. sometimes you get lucky and find parking, but usually not. However, once you are in the town, everything is within walking distance.

when I was there the trolley with wheels took us to the warf where there were a number of TT parked and hooked up to water and power. I would think if you book a space early and you arrive early or in the middle of the night you might just get in there without a lot of traffic.

Ive been through all the attractions, like I said, I used to live there. My father used to be the head pro at Kernwood CC in Salem. We are going for the good food and show the girlfriend some history. The house of seven gables is pretty impressive though.
