Newbie here looking for recommendations on the best sealant for seams on our camper. Also, what's the best maintenence routine for our roof?

We just purchased a 2002 Coleman Caravan and want to make sure we don't have leaks. Thanks

The maintenance routine we use on our trailer is based upon CLEANING. I typically keep mine uncovered and it can get dirty. I carefully walk along the roof and scrub the roof and wipe the plastics clean. I then use 303 Protectant and I have used this on the awning and the roof. Not the cheapest but then I've always assumed re-roofing it would be much less cheap.
I've never had a split in the seam and the cleaning/protectant undoubtable helps. (I suppose no amount of 303 will protect against low branches, and every County park in my neck of the woods appears to like trees with low branches. )

good luck,
Mike

Hersh,
If you are speaking of seams and the sealer used on a rubber roof to seal perforations in the roof, the generally accepted best product is probably DICOR. Easy to use and will hold for about two years. Using a dull flat blade, remove the old product and lay a nice bead of new product in its place. DICOR comes in a caulking tube type cylinder and is available at most any RV supply. It is the product of choice among most RV repair shops.
